EasyRotator KnowledgeBase – Dismissing the Editor Installation Box
Please Note: This article only applies to EasyRotator for WordPress.
When using EasyRotator for WordPress, you may occasionally experience trouble where the editor application installation prompt at the top of the WordPress dashboard won't go away. To complete the installation and dismiss this prompt, first manually install the editor application by running the following installer:
After completing the installation, return to the WordPress dashboard and reload the page. (If you are still prompted to install and you're using Google Chrome on Windows, see this bulletin.) If the box stalls at "Checking setup configuration..." then your Flash Player installation is likely corrupted. For a quick fix, try switching to a different browser and see if the Dismiss link is visible in the WordPress dashboard. If not, you'll need to reinstall the Flash Player to fix the corrupted installation.
To do this, first follow Adobe's uninstallation directions:
Then, reinstall the Flash Player. Once you've completed the reinstallation and restarted your browser, return to the WordPress dashboard. The editor application should properly be detected. You'll now be able to click the Dismiss link to hide the box.
Note: If the box is still stalled at "Checking setup configuration..." after completing the Flash Player reinstallation, there may be another plugin causing a JavaScript error in the WordPress dashboard. You can check for this by loading the dashboard in Google Chrome and opening the JavaScript Console (View > Developer > JavaScript Console).
If you still have trouble after completing the steps above or you're unsure of how to proceed, please contact support and include the URL of your WordPress site and temporary credentials to access the WordPress dashboard.
