Below you will find some frequently asked questions relating to the Flash
Audio Kit.
It is also recommended that you look at the Features page.
Q: What type of server-side requirements are there?
A: There are no server-side requirements whatsoever, because it is Flash
based.
Q: Do I need to have Macromedia Flash to use
the extension?
A: No. You only need Dreamweaver MX, MX 2004, or 8.
Q: How can I pay for the extension?
A: You can pay through PayPal.
We do not accept any other forms of payment at this time. Unfortunately, if you
are in South Africa you will not be able to purchase
the extension, unless a friend purchases it for you.
Q: How long does it take to receive download instructions?
A: Under normal circumstances, they will be emailed to you within 2 minutes;
occasionally because of heavy server traffic it may take up to one hour. (PayPal
E-check payments are an exception; download instructions are sent as soon as
the payment clears.) If you do not receive download instructions within an hour,
your spam filter may have caught it. In this case, Contact us
to receive instructions.
Q: How do I create Flash Audio?
A: You can use the easy to use Insertion Wizard that will create the Flash Audio
and copy all necessary files. See
Wizard Demo
Q: How do I edit the Flash Audio I create?
A: To edit the Flash Audio, you can use the Editing Wizard, which is just like
the Insertion Wizard.
Q: What is the weight of the dependent files?
A: The SWF file is 40KB. However,
this file only has to be downloaded once for the entire site. After that, it
is pulled from the user's browser cache.
Q: If I need support what are my options?
A: Check our Support Center. If you can't find the answer anywhere
on our site, you can use the Contact Support page
to contact support.
Q: I installed the extension. However, the Flash Audio Kit menu
item doesn't appear on the Insert bar. What is the problem?
A:
First, make sure that you're looking in the correction
location. If you're still having trouble, this is a bug in Dreamweaver
and the Extension Manager that occasionally shows
up. Un-install and re-install the extension a few
times. This usually fixes the issue. If this doesn't
work, download and install another extension from
somewhere such as the Macromedia
Exchange.
Q: When I preview the Flash Audio, nothing
shows up. What is the problem?
A:
The supporting files haven't been uploaded.
Select the Flash Audio Jukebox or the Flash
Audio, and click the Upload Dependent Files
button in the Property Inspector.
Q: When I preview the Flash Audio, the player
shows up, but it is unresponsive and doesn't
play the audio. What is the problem?
A: Make sure you have uploaded the audio
file(s).
Q: When I preview the Flash Audio in a different
browser, all I see is a little black box
with a green border. What is the problem?
A:
Your alternate browser has the Flash Player
version 6 or earlier installed. The Flash
Player 7 is required to view the Flash Audio.
In your alerternate browser, download
and install the Flash Player 7. After
doing this, the Flash Audio should appear
correctly. If you don't want users who don't
have the Flash Player 7 to experience this
issue, consider adding a Flash detection
script to your site. A helpful tutorial on
the subject can be found at Kirupa.com.
Q: Do you provide support for adult or adult
oriented sites?
A: No. We refuse to provide support of any kind for adult or adult oriented sites.
